RUSKINGTON: The way it was.

Chapel Street

The Wesleyan Chapel

The Wesleyan Chapel was built in 1849 and demolished in 1960. The four adjacent cottages were removed prior to that, in 1950, and a new church, to be called the Ruskington Methodist Church, was built in their place. The stone laying for this took place in September 1957 and it was formally opened twelve months later. The demolition of the old chapel provided space for car park and a new meeting hall which opened in 1971.
