Records show there has been a church in Ruskington since 1086, when it may have been a Saxon wooden building. The present church was built in the 12th century, with additions and alterations made throughout the following centuries.
The photograph above is marked with the date 1860 but some question whether that date is authentic. However, it is unquestionably a very early image.

In 1873 the Reverend Arthur Myers had the chancel extended and the roof raised.
Note the newly planted yew tree in the foreground.
The new chancel can be seen in this photograph. The window at the end was also changed to one in a perpendicular style. This can be seen from the inside in the photograph below.
