RUSKINGTON: The way it was.

The town band in 1920 on Pattinson's lawn.

The Reverend S Chadwick, Josiah Hicks, and Mr Harry Dawson pictured in a motor vehicle on the church bridge in 1908. They were on a religous tour but no more information is available.

A 1908 photograph of the Mill and Mill House on Dorrington Road, now known as Lincoln Road. This was a post mill which was demolished in 1911. Records show there was a mill here as early as 1799, but the first Ordnance survey to show a mill here was in 1824. The tall chimney to the left of the house belonged to a bake oven which was probably used by the community. Thankfully the house has been well maintained and, apart from an extension at the rear of the property, looks exactly the same today.

This is the latest addition to my collection of cards - I know nothing about the photo, any information about where, when or what would be very welcome.
